
Meet the Writer
Jessica Andrewartha is a Seattle based writer, mom, tech worker, dog lover, and well-intentioned houseplant killer. She has written more than 6 full length plays, numerous short plays, and in recent years has been focusing on short fiction.
In the realm of plays, Choices People Make won the Neukom Institute inaugural Literary Arts Award for Playwriting and received workshops in the Vox Festival at Dartmouth and at Northern Stage as part of the award. Light Delay was workshopped at Free Spirit Theatre in the UK in May 2019 after receiving a staged reading at the Ground and Field Theatre Festival at UC, Davis and a workshop at Parley Productions in Seattle. Her latest full-length play, Finding Ruth, was workshopped with Parley in Jan. 2020.
Other full length plays include Enter Starlighter, W.H.I.P., Where Do We Start?, and Ready to Start. Her short plays have been produced in Seattle, Boston, Chicago, Los Angeles, Las Vegas, Dallas, London, and Dunedin, New Zealand.
Jessica’s short fiction has appeared on Utopia Science Fiction and Every Day Fiction.
